Wolf Mother

And though you seek in garments the freedom of privacy you may find in them a harness and a chain.

Would that you could meet the sun and the wind with more of your skin and less of your raiment.

For the breath of life is in the sunlight and the hand of life is in the wind.

And forget not that the earth delights to feel your bare feet and the winds long to play with your hair.

Would that you could live on the fragrance of the earth.

Your hearts know in the silence the secrets of the days and the nights.

But your ears thirst for the sound of your hearts knowledge.

Your seeds shall live in my body, and the buds of your tomorrow shall blossom in my heart.

And your fragrance shall be my breath

And my heart bled within me; for you can only be free when even the desire of seeking freedom becomes a harness
to you.

You shall be free indeed when your days are not without a care nor your nights without a want and a grief,

But rather when these things girdle your life and yet you rise above them naked and unbound.

And how shall you rise beyond your days and nights unless you break the chains which you at the dawn of your understanding have fastened around your noon hour?

You would touch with your fingers the naked body of your dreams.

The Real Beauty

I'm a firm believer in getting what you need when you need it, so when a free holiday knocked at my door, I opened it with both arms.

Technically I did work on my holiday, but I was paid, and if you can call drumming with a group of people dancing and yelling at the excitement then yeah... I was working.

None the less, between the cocktails, the 'work', the sights, and exploring an Island, I was in holiday bliss.

I've said it before and no doubt I'll say it again, the ocean is my love. It's depth inspires me, it's beauty caresses me.

Usually it's the people I photograph, but on this trip the Ocean was all I had eyes for.

Morning, day and night.

Our stop on Moreton Island was incredible. We arrived early in the morning and spent the day on it's shores.

We ate, drank, snorkelled, and soaked in the Spring that had seemingly bypassed Moreton Island - Summer had won our hearts that day.

The real beauty surrounds us each and every moment of our lives. Sometimes we forget to look, other times we just can't see past the walls we've built around ourselves. It's hard to imagine that it comes for free, that it's our birthright to be wrapped in the luxury of the air we breathe. Each experience offers an opportunity to look within a little clearer, and look outside ourselves a little clearer too. I took every moment I had to 'see' while I was away.

Create and Capture

Today I dredged through cardboard boxes of old film photos. Admittedly I'm not the most practical planner. For years I've collected my photos like treasure, keeping every single print and negative, carting them with me from place to place.

The water damage isn't enough to dampen the memories.
A simple flower at a time 10 years ago represented the biggest of life changes, a new beginning in my world.
Everyone I love, every moment I wanted to capture has stayed with me, waiting to reveal itself again on a new day, in a new light, in a new beginning.

It's not about what, or how you capture your world, it's about the emotion that's behind it, it's that pull on your heart strings that creates.

Create and capture your moments.
